LIBRARY NEWS

It seems like another book sale is always coming up – our next one is during the City Celebration on September 11th.  The truth is, we like looking through the books as they come in!  Keep them coming!  We have great turnover in what is offered so it’s not all the same books as the last sale, and only about one fourth of the books will still be around a year later.  Yet donations are so good that we are never short of books to host a great sale!  We couldn’t have a library without your donations, so thank you for your wonderful support of the library.

My faithful helper Dee is on vacation for the month of July.  I would really appreciate someone coming by on Mondays to shelve books, and help out while I do Story Time.  I can find things to do to keep you busy!   -Cathy

Summer Reading Program:  Our summer reading program is underway at the library.  The children’s room has turned into a beach, and soon the walls will be filling up with drops of water and fish, as kids start turning in their reading logs!  Those who enjoy listening to stories can visit the library on Mondays at 11:00, and we’ll do a craft after reading.  And you can come hang around the library any time, you don’t have to wait for Mondays!  (Age appropriate, please – we can’t baby-sit and you don’t want us to!)  The older kids are reading Rick Riordan’s The Red Pyramid about siblings battling Egyptian gods in the modern world.  The first Pizza and a Paperback discussion is Monday, July 5th at the library.
